Daniel Padilla Ready To Film “Nang Mapagod si Katamayan”

Here’s what Daniel Padilla said about the film he’s about to do and the success of Kathryn Bernardo.

Kapamilya superstar Daniel Padilla will be starring with actor Zanjoe Marudo in the film “Nang Mapagod si Katamayan”.

Born Daniel John Ford Padilla in real life is the Kapamilya superstar Daniel Padilla.

He is paired with Kathryn Bernardo, his partner in reel and real life. But this year, they explored their career by accepting projects without being paired with each other. Bernardo’s “A Very Good Girl” film is successful.

It is now in its second week and already earned over Php 75 million as of October 6. Daniel is also set to do a film without his partner which will be called “Nang Mapagod si Katamayan”. He will be working with Zanjoe Marudo for this film.

After the success of “A Very Good Girl”, Star Cinema is set to start rolling for another highly anticipated movie which marks Padilla’s comeback movie.

He spoke about this and shared that for now, the focus is on Kathryn’s movie promotions and after this, he will be focusing on this film.

“Siyempre, inaasikaso muna natin yung kay Kathryn [Bernardo], promotions for her movie. and then after that, larga na tayo for our movie,” he said. 

“Nang Mapagod si Katamayan” is based on a story written by a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Ricky Lee.

As for the success of Kath’s film, he expressed how proud he is of her for being the lead in a film to bolster the Philippine cinema following the pandemic. It is accordingly a good start for the film industry after it suffered in the past years.

Meanwhile, in a previous article, apart from this film, among Daniel’s future projects include “The Guest” which will be directed by Jerrold Tarog and written by Patrick Valencia and the other one is untitled yet but it would be with Bernardo under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina.
