Pura Luka Vega Bail: Drag Artist’s Team Gets Over Php 50k From Donation

The team of Pura Luka Vega has gathered this amount from donations for his bail.

PURA LUKA VEGA – In an update, over Php 50k has been raised already by his team and the donation will go to his bail.

Controversial drag queen Pura Luka Vega whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagente has been arrested and is currently behind bars.

Pura was arrested in his residence at Sta. Cruz, Manila on Wednesday, October 4. His arrest was due to immoral doctrines, obscene publications, and exhibition and indecent shows. by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Czarina Villanueva of the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 36.

The cases filed that sent him to jail were because of his video performing a version of “Ama Namin” which was deemed blasphemous by a lot of people.

The Hijos Del Nazareno (HDN) Central filed charges against him for violation of  Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code (Immoral Doctrines, Obscene Publications and Exhibitions, and Indecent Shows). This is in relation to Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

Manila Police District Spokesperson Philipp Ines confirmed that he was sent to Manila Police District Station 3 and for this night, he will be staying under the authorities’ custody.

His is Php 72,000.00 and his team is planning to bail him out. In one of the posts of his friends, the team will open donating channels to help Luka bailout.

Director Rod Singh shared, “Luka and their team will be able to post bail tomorrow. They’ll stay in police custody tonight. For those who are willing to help Luka with their bail amounting to 72 thousand pesos, we will be opening donation channels by tonight.”

In the director’s latest post, the team has already collected Php 54,358.00 as of 8:25 PM on October 4.

Due to his blasphemous performance, Luka was also declared persona non grata in many localities and some are Cebu City, Floridablanca in Pampanga, General Santos City, Toboso in Negros Occidental, Bukidnon, Dinagat Islands, Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, and Occidental Mindoro.
