Her father reminded her that being a celebrity does not make them higher than other people. Maxene Magalona said that her father would encourage them to be instruments of peace.

My Pop used his platform to advocate for peace and even wrote a song called “Peace on Earth,” the actress shared. Her father also taught her to always love their family. Maxene shared that even though her father was not perfect, they felt the love that a good father can give them. “He was my role model for love,” she said.

Francis Magalona also encouraged his children to pursue their dreams and not let anyone hinder them from achieving their goals. He also taught his children the value of authenticity.

For the last thing that she recalled their father taught them, Maxene Magalona wrote, “Let go and let God. This was one of the things he said to me when I was asking him for advice.”

The actress also shared a clip of her interview with her father in 1996. That was the time when she was one of the hosts of the youth-oriented show 5 and Up. In that episode, the show featured Francis M’s work as a musician while he was working on his album Happy Battle.

Meanwhile, Francis M is one of the most celebrated figures in the music industry in the Philippines. Years after his death, people still remember him and his music. He was even featured in the Eraserheads reunion concert back in December 2022. Francis performed via hologram during that iconic music event.
