Nowadays, the lives of public figures are closely examined, and every interaction and connection becomes a subject for speculation. Such is the case with Kitty Duterte, daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, and De La Salle University (DLSU) basketball player Evan Nelle.
The dating rumors began when the two were spotted at a concert. The photos and videos from the concert immediately spread like wildfire online and earned various reactions from internet users.
Evan Nelle boldly crossed the door into the Duterte family circle. He met Kitty’s father, former during a dinner in Taguig City. Sen. Christopher Go shared the photos of the gathering on his official Facebook page.
The photos were taken after a concert tribute for the teachers at Malacañang on October 1, 2023. Senator Bong Go rushed to join former President Rodrigo Duterte for dinner at the Mgyuu restaurant owned by Daniel Mesias in a mall in Taguig City.
Former president Duterte, Senator Bong Go, Kitty Duterte, Doctor Agnes, and her husband Ed were present during the dinner.
Way back in 2019, the former president shared his approach to meeting his daughter’s suitors.
“Ang Veronica ko, nagdala ng lalaki, gusto daw ako makilala. Sabi ko, walang problema. Sabi ko, ‘Ano ka ba?’ High school pa, parang mag-graduate na, going to college. Tapos, nung usap, sabi ko, ‘Yang anak ko, kaisa-isa ‘yan sa aking asawa na si Honeylet,” Duterte said.
He also gave cautionary advice to the young suitor that no physical contact, no holding hands, no kissing, and certainly no hanky-panky are allowed.
