Drama actor Jake Cuenca has this revelation about Chie Filomeno and why she is his “the one that got away”.
In a previous article, Chie Filomeno confirmed she is in a dating status. She is dating actor Jake Cuenca but they are not yet officially in a relationship. To recall, it was the actor who first expressed his admiration for the actress.
Cuenca confirmed his split breakup with beauty queen Kylie Verzosa last year and Filomeno is not bothered. She is unbothered by the speculations that it is just a rebound relationship between her and the actor.
And recently, in an interview, Cuenca shared why she is his TOTGA or “the one that got away” and how they reconnected.
According to him, she was “kinda like the one who got away” from him and revealed that they had dated a long time ago already. This was the time when she first joined It’s Showtime as among the members of an all-girl dance group.
And this second around, he doesn’t want to let her go.
They reconnected during the Christmas Ball of Star Magic held at the Sheraton Manila Hotel last November 27, 2022. He was the first one to make a move and approach her in this event.
His intention at that event was really to show up for the bosses but he saw her and decided to stay.
“That was my thing naman, but I saw her so I stayed. It felt like it something from a movie,” he shared. And this year, she is his only reason to attend this year’s upcoming ABS-CBN Ball.
In an interview with PEP, he shared that what he likes about her is her grit and determination to stay in the industry. He’s been an actor for over two decades now and he is well aware of how difficult it is to make a name in this very competitive field.
“I met her when she was just starting tapos nakita ko how patient she was, and that’s not common. Hindi common yon sa industry. A lot of people quit. Siya, she stayed. Kaya parang, for me, a small of a woman she is, she’s really larger than life,” he said and added that he can’t wait for people to see her great personality.
