Aside from his busy schedule doing the daily noontime show and the weekly gag show Bubble Gang, Paolo Contis also has movie projects. Fuchsia Libre is one of his latest films in which his character is a gay wrestler.

He said in a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, that he is serious about this role. “I’m taking this role seriously,” he said. The movie is directed by RC delos Reyes and written by Tonio Rodolfo.

Paolo’s character is a gay man who wants to be accepted by his authoritarian father who is played by award-winning actor John Arcilla. The Eat Bulaga host promised that his role will not be a caricature.

“First of all, I agreed to do the project because of its serious take on the role of the LGBTQIA+ community in our society. I want to help broaden people’s understanding and acceptance of their group. This is the main challenge of the movie for me,” the actor shared.

Paolo also shared that he recently received the material for the movie and he will study the role first. The actor said that this is going to be a big responsibility for him because he is representing a large group.

He is also familiarizing himself with the rules of wrestling. Paolo Contis shared that he used to train with some fighters when he was younger. However, he stopped because he focused on his career.
