The most popular characters in Greek Mythology are the gods and goddesses of Mt. Olympus. Zeus, Aphrodite, Athena, and the other Greek gods and goddesses are part of many tales.

Meanwhile, apart from the Greek gods and goddesses, there are other characters who aren’t gods nor goddesses but play important roles in the tales. Among them are the three sisters of fate.

The three sisters of fate are Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. They are believed to be the sisters who weave the fate of humans as well as gods. Stories say that neither gods and goddesses can influence or question the fate that the sisters have for each one.

Clotho is the youngest among the three sisters of fate in Greek Mythology. She is the spinner of the thread of life. The fate of humans and gods originates from her as her thread is upon birth of a god or human.

The second among the sisters is Lachesis. She is believed to be in-charged of allocating the fate of people and gods out of many possibilities. She is believed to measure the thread of life with her rod determining how long a human can live.

As for Atropos, she is the clutter of the thread of life. She is the one determining how human lives will end. She is the one cutting the thread of life on individual death.
