Michelle Dee had an unexpected experience in her first international pageant
Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee recalled the “sabotahe” experience that she had when she competed in Miss World 2019.
Michelle is now a pageant veteran. With her experience in pageantry, she can definitely slay the pageant stage. However, just like any live show or performance, there are unexpected things that happen.
In a recent guesting on actress Bea Alonzo’s YouTube channel, Michelle shared one pageant experience that she had.
She represented the Philippines in the 69th Miss World in London back in December 2019. Michelle Dee shared that someone sabotaged her. That was her first international pageant and she was really careful with everything like her gown and national costume.
“During our NatCos rehearsal, I was wearing a beautiful-beautiful piece by Francis Libiran,” she said. Since they had to take photos, she had to put down her two fawns.
When she went back, the fans were no longer there. She was texting her designer at that time to ask for help and they were ready to make another set.
“But thankfully, this is why I love Pinoys all over the world. That hotel had so many Pinoys,” ang kuwento ni Michelle na sobra ang pasasalamat sa mga kababayang tumulong sa kanya para maibalik ang mga pamaypay na nawala,” Michelle shared.
She said that she was not told who did it but apparently, whoever did that got afraid when she demanded to watch the CCTVs. “Maybe kinabahan [ang kumuha] because, you know, I was like, ‘I need to see the CCTVs. I need to see where my fans are,’ so ibinalik niya,” she shared.
Michelle Dee also shared that Miss World 2013 Megan Young advised her to be prepared. When it comes to very important things for her wardrobe change, she had to have extras.
“Bring a back-up all the time because it’s been done before… Unfortunately, some people choose to do bad things,” she shared about what Megan advised her.
