Thieves Drill Hole Through Mall’s Wall, Escaped w/ P13-M in Cash & Jewelry
Three thieves managed to infiltrate a mall in Tagum City, Davao del Norte and escaped with P13 million in cash and jewelry.
Earlier this week, three male suspects resorted to an unconventional method to infiltrate a mall in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. The daring heist left the police authorities and the public in shock.
The culprits performed their illegal activity by targeting an ATM within the mall, making off with a staggering P4 million in cash. However, their ambitions did not end there, and also seized jewelry worth P9 million.
The witty suspects breached the mall’s defenses by drilling a hole through a wall adjacent to an empty lot to carry out the meticulously planned robbery. The robbers were able to avoid security measures that typically protect such establishments.
The on-site security guard stationed outside the mall discovered the crime the following morning. The personnel did not notice the illegal activity inside the mall’s premises during that night.
The law enforcement agencies suspect that the thieves may be part of an organized group with a history of similar robbery schemes. Investigations have also led authorities to consider possible links between this incident and a previous break-in at a grocery store in Davao City, as well as another mall in Agusan del Sur.
The incident serves as a reminder to business owners regarding the importance of security measures to prevent such incidents. Authorities are working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice and recover the stolen items.
