A female shopper recently expressed her frustration while showcasing her P1,000 worth of grocery items “Ito na lang Inabot”.
The Facebook user, Marion Abilene Navarro, shared a photo of a male shopper flaunting her P1,000 grocery haul. The post quickly gained traction online, sparking reactions from netizens who could relate to her plight.
Navarro showcased the items she managed to purchase at the grocery store for a mere P1,000. Her post describes the harsh reality faced by many Filipino families due to the rising cost of living.
Marion’s list of groceries included essentials such as bread crumbs, Magic Sarap seasoning, two packs of Knorr sinigang mix, Modess napkins, two tubes of Colgate toothpaste, pork and chicken bouillon cubes, three bars of Safeguard soap, and a container of black pepper. The list didn’t even cover the main ingredients for her meals.
“Akala ko marami pa kami pwedeng bilhin pero pagkakita ko sa calculator aabot na ng 1k. Gulat kami ng nanay ko pero ano ba magagawa natin? Lahat naman ng tipid tips ginagawa at puro needs lang binibili,”Navarro said.
Her sentiment is all too familiar to countless Filipinos who have witnessed the diminishing value of their income. The constant cycle of working hard to make ends meet, only to see most of one’s earnings go towards bills and groceries, takes its toll on individuals and families alike.
“Nakakalungkot dahil kapag nakikipag-usap ako sa iba lagi nasasabi, ‘dati ang rami ko mabibili sa 1k pero ngayon parang barya nalang.’ Nakakapagod din dahil alam mo na kailangan mo magtrabaho nang magtrabaho para kumita. Makukuha mo sweldo mo tapos kinabukasan pagkabayad mo ng bills at grocery ano pa ba ang matitira?” she added.
The female shopper also raised concerns about the lack of effective government programs aimed at addressing the food crisis and the relentless inflation of prices.
