The Miss Philippines Is Open To Mothers, Married Women

The Miss Philippines announced the schedule for the screening

The Miss Philippines is allowing mothers and married women to join the pageant just like the new rule in some international pageants.

Over the years, pageantry all over the world has gone through some innovations and changes. It was recently announced by several pageant organizations that those women who are already mothers or have husbands can now join their pageants.

This is in line with their effort to promote inclusivity. However, just like the rule to include transwomen, this also received negative reactions from pageants fans.

The Miss Philippines is joining the list of pageants that will allow mothers and married women as candidates. In a recent Facebook post, the pageant organization announced that it will welcome not just single women.

Single, married, or a mother— you are a Queen. And you are welcome to join The Miss Philippines! You don’t have to give up your dreams of joining a pageant yet because we believe that mothers and married women can be as effective as single women at being influencers and advocates of Philippine Culture and Heritage,” the caption of the post stated.

The pageant organization added that whatever the civil status, of the applicant will fulfill qualifications and have the passion and purpose, then, she is welcome to join.

For this pageant, the screening will be on September 2 & 9, 2023, from 11 AM to 5 PM at the Enderun Coworking Estancia – 2nd Floor, South Wing, Estancia Mall, Meralco Ave. Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Previously, The Miss Philippines announced that the pageant would not have a swimsuit competition. This portion has been a popular feature in different pageants. However, there were already some pageants that eliminated the swimsuit competition like Miss World. In line with the no swimsuit competition pageant, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach shared her thoughts.
