Nadine Lustre As “Queen of Horror Movies”, Here’s Her Reaction

This is the reaction of Nadine Lustre to the “Queen of Horror Movies” name given to her.

After her best actress win for the film “Deleter”, Nadine Lustre is now dubbed as the “Queen of Horror Movies” and this is what she said.

Kris Aquino, apart from being the  ‘Queen Of All Media’ is also considered as the ‘Horror Queen of Philippine Cinema’. However, when she got sick, she lied low in doing horror films and it seems like one actress is likely to take a similar title.

To recall, Aquino is famous for her ‘iconic scream’. Lilia B. Cuntapay also had the title ‘Queen of Philippine Horror Movies’ because of her notable appearances in many horror movies.

And the newly born queen of horror films is Nadine Lustre.

The first horror film of Lustre was “Chain Mail” which was released in 2015. And last year, she did another one called “Deleter” which made her win the Best Actress award from the Gabi ng Parangal of the 48th Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Deleter” was the top-grosser of the MMFF 2022 and earned a whopping amount of Php 240 million. This year’s MMFF, she will be showcasing her acting prowess again in a new horror film entitled “Nokturno” to be directed by Mikhail Red, the same director behind “Deleter”.

Now, what can she say about the “Queen of Horror Movies” title given to her by the public? According to her, she cannot claim it yet.

She said, “Parang hindi ko pa po make-claim yung Horror Queen title kasi meron akong ginawang isang pelikula, pero support lang po ako dun.

The 29-year-old actress was referring to her stint in “Chain Mail” where she had a short appearance. But she added that she is happy over the recognition she received for her performance in her latest film.

As for the upcoming film, she feels both excited and a bit of pressure because the last film she did with Red was successful. She feels pressure but she is confident. She pis excited about how they are going to shoot for “Nokturno” and how the story will unfold based on a report from PEP.
