This is what James Reid said regarding the alleged involvement of his father.
Actor-music artist James Reid reacts to the issue of Jeffrey Oh and the alleged involvement of his father.
Korean-American businessman Jeffrey Oh is the chief executive officer of Careless record label. He is the business partner of James Reid.
In a previous article, Oh is facing deportation charges for violation of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940. Allegedly, among the complainants was the father of Reid. He has been released on bail and this was confirmed by the Bureau of Immigration.
The 34-year-old Korean-American entrepreneur was arrested in Poblacion, Makati on July 28 following the complaints about him “engaging in gainful employment without the necessary work permit in violation of Philippine immigration laws”.
Former Careless artist Nadine Lustre reacted to the issue. She refused to make any comments about the arrest but said this regarding his situation, “I’ve worked with him too. It’s very unfortunate that this is happening.”
Apart from Careless, Oh is also behind the foundation of Brooklyn Industries Group, a food and beverage group behind West 32, Japonesa, and Alamat.
And now, finally speaking about this is James and he spoke regarding the alleged involvement of his father as among the complainants. This has caught him and his family, including his father, in shock.
They were surprised by the rumors that came out and the elder Reid was upset about this.
James said in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN, “When it came out, he said, ‘James, what did I do?’ So yeah, he was shocked. Simplest way to say it is, he had nothing to do with it. It’s surprising and we can joke about it but he was upset with everything that has been happening, the misunderstandings. He was upset on my behalf.”
It has been alleged that it was his father who alerted the immigration officials.
In the same interview, the journey in this field of this type of business has been rough for them and this year, especially, was the hardest for them because of the issue with the work permit of Oh.
