Rainier Castillo Admits 10-Year Showbiz Absence Is Due To ‘Namali ng landas’

Rainier Castillo is having his showbiz comeback

StarStruck Season 1 First Prince Rainier Castillo admitted that his 10-year absence in the entertainment industry was because he treaded a wrong path in life.

Rainier is one of the pioneer graduates of StarStruck, the Kapuso talent search that produced Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, and Mark Herras as first batch winners. The three continued their showbiz career but Rainier took a break a decade ago. It is also the batch where Nadine Samonte, Dion Ignacio, Cristine Reyes, and more came from.

In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, the returning actor said that it is a blessing for him to be part of the upcoming Kapuso series Black Rider.

He said that it has been ten years already since he became inactive in showbiz. When asked what the reason was, Rainier Castillo said, “Siguro po medyo nalihis, namali ng landas parang ganon, ewan…”

He explained that it is because he trusted the wrong people and he regretted what happened. However, he stressed that he already changed that. The actor chose not to elaborate on this matter.

When asked why he decided to have his showbiz comeback, he said that he felt that this is the time already. “Siguro calling ulit ni God. Siguro binigay sa akin ulit ito na, ‘O, Rainier, kailangan mo nang mag-work ulit sa showbiz,’” the actor said.

During the interview, Rainier also mentioned something controversial. He admitted that there was a time when he had a relationship with two women at the same time. He said that it happened a long time ago.

Rainier Castillo reasoned out that it was because of the impulse that he had when he was younger that made him do that. However, he stressed that it did not last because having two relationships at the same was really difficult.
