“Senior High” will feature these young Kapamilya stars
The upcoming Kapamilya series Senior High is set to tackle mental health issues that have become a common problem among young people nowadays.
This series will feature Kapamilya young stars Juan Karlos Labajo, Kyle Echarri, Andrea Brillantes, and Elijah Canlas. The story revolves around the lives of young students and the problems they have to encounter.
ABS-CBN and Dreamscape already released a teaser of the said series and it showed that it will tackle a sensitive topic about mental health.
The series will also feature Zaijian Jaranilla, Xyriel Manabat, Daniela Stranner, Miggy Jimenez, Gela Atayde, and Tommy Alejandrino. Seasoned stars Sylvia Sanchez, Angel Aquino, Baron Geisler, and Mon Confiado are also part of the cast.
In the caption of the video, it teased that Northford High is where the dreams of young people start but secrets will slowly unfold. “Pero sa isang iglap, mapuputol ang pangarap. Sa bawat pamilya, nothing is what it seems,” it added.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Andrea Brillante said that the series will tackle bullying, especially since this is happening in many schools. The actress shared that she was also a victim of bullying.
“And mapag-uusapan din po ‘yung family issues, ‘yung mga abusive parents, pati ‘yung mga parents na they’re there pero hindi na nila alam ‘yung ginagawa ng mga anak nila,” she said. Andrea added that in the series, the sensitive of issue of ending one’s own life will also be covered.
Elijah Canlas said that this is so timely for him. He recently lost his younger brother JM Canlas and this brought certain emotions.
“To be honest, nag-question ako kung kaya ko pa. But I feel like I was put on this show for a purpose. Na naging part ako ng show na ito in this moment. That’s why super focused talaga na maihatid ang tamang message instead of triggering, instead of sending the wrong message to other people,” the award-winning actor said. This is his first project with ABS-CBN.
Senior High will premiere on August 28 after The Iron Heart.
