Pura Luka Vega has responded after being declared persona non grata in 12 different localities, expressing his defiance with the statement, “Dagdagan niyo pa”
Last month, Amadeus Fernando Pagente or known as Pura Luka received negative criticisms online after posting his video along with other LGBTQ+ members partying to remix version of ‘Ama Namin’. Netizens found his performance blasphemous and offensive.
Following the controversial stint, various localities across the nation have declared Pura Luka Vega as persona non grata as he remain unapologetic.
On August 20, 2023 (Sunday), the Filipino drag artist Pura Luka Vega has returned to the stage and performed at Apotheka Manila in Makati City. A Twitter user named Jordy Rae Jepsen has shared the video footage of the personality’s performance.
Despite the ongoing controversy, Pura Luka Vega chose to sing “Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift while holding a photograph of her. The personality sang the lyrics “I’m sorry, but the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, ’cause she’s dead.”

The controversial figure gave a brief speech after his performance addressing the issues surrounding him and claimed that everyone mistakes because everyone is a sinner.
“Eto yung masasabi ko, simplehan lang natin ha, okay lahat tayo makasalanan tama? Hindi tayo perpekto tama? Ganun paman do unto others what you want others to do unto you, do not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you, golden rule lang po yun,” he said.
The latter also expressed his reaction after being declared a persona non grata in 12 different localities in the country.
“Para sa mga ibang lugar na gusto pa mag persona jan, dagdagan nyo pa. Pakialam ko sa separation ng Church at ng State. Ayun lamang po. Thank you po,” he added.
