Dianne Medina Catches Netizens’ Attention Due To “Taranta”

Dianne Medina had another “mistake” on-air

PTV’s host Dianne Medina once again caught the attention of many netizens just recently because of the word “taranta.”

To recall, this is not the first time that netizens called out the showbiz personality. Back in February, during her segment in Rise and Shine Pilipinas, she reported about K-pop group TWICE’s subunit.

However, she read the word “subunit” as “suboonit.” This did not sit well with the fans of the K-pop group and she was criticized for not reading or researching the report prior to the airing.

When Dianne Medina explained her “mistake,” she said that she does not know anything about K-Pop and so she assumed it was a Japanese word. On the other hand, she acknowledged that as a host, she should not just rely on the teleprompter.

However, it appeared that she did the same mistake again. In a recent episode of her segment on PTV’s show, she mentioned the title of the K-Pop group iKON as “Taranta” when it was supposed to be “Tantara.” She once again received negative reactions because of this.

She was told by netizens to read properly the report. There were also those who recalled the past mistake she did and did it again just recently. This was shared on a popular showbiz site and netizens did not like what she did.

A netizen pointed out that she did not learn her lesson as she did the same mistake twice while another one pointed out that she is just a neas ws reader and not a journalist. Amidst the negative reactions directed at Dianne, a netizen defended her saying that she is a good host even and it does not matter if she is a mass communications graduate or not.

Here are some comments.
