Kath Llarenas, a private resort owner, has expressed her dismay following an incident where a group of disrespectful guests wreaked havoc on the resort’s facilities.
On Monday morning (August 14, 2023), the silent atmosphere of Jeremias Resort in Bucal, Calamba City, Laguna was shattered by an act of senseless vandalism. The resort fell victim to the inappropriate behavior of a group of men who showed a complete lack of respect for the property.
The incident has left the owner not only distressed but also deeply disheartened by the disrespectful act of the guests.
The group of men who had rented the venue approached the caretaker to retrieve their P1,000 security deposit. However, the caretaker informed them that he would inspect the pool area first but the guests quickly fled using a motorcycle.
The owner and staff were shocked upon reviewing the resort’s CCTV footage. The clip shows a distressing scene of chairs and a water dispenser being hurled into the swimming pool, leaving it in a complete chaos.
Even the BBQ grill was not spared, as it was discovered broken and discarded. Bottles of liquors and cooking oil were shattered, adding to the commotion and posing safety risks owing to the sharp glass bits spread in the pool.
The aftermath of the tragedy left the once-pristine pool unsafe for use, preventing future guests the opportunity to use the facilities. Llarenas expressed her disappointment to the incident that ruined the reputation of the resort she has worked hard to maintain.
