Jennylyn Mercado shares what she feels about her showbiz comeback
Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado admitted that she felt like she is a newbie again after her 2-year showbiz break.
Jennylyn is the first StarStruck Ultimate Female Survivor. From winning the Kapuso reality talent search, she was able to soar high as an actress and recording artist. Throughout the years, she has done various acting projects.
Back in 2021, she took a break unexpectedly. The actress was already filming for the series Love. Die. Repeat. with Xian Lim.
However, the filming had to be postponed because she found out that she was pregnant with her child with Dennis Trillo. Now, Jennylyn Mercado is gearing up as she returned to continue the said project.
Based on the article in Bandera, the Kapuso actress admitted that she is quite having a hard time as she was on break for a long time. “Parang pakiramdam ko…parang baguhang artista ako,” she admitted.
The actress also said that she felt like she does know how to act anymore and she is quite shy as she is struggling to memorize her script. Before her showbiz hiatus, her projects came one after the other, and so she almost has no rest from acting. This made her more confident and it was easy for her to memorize.
“Ngayon parang baby brain pa, ‘yung hindi ko pa agad makabisado so kailangan ko ng time talaga na, kunwari ‘yung day ng before ng taping, kailangan kong makita ang sequences para prepared ako the next day, ganun,” she added.
Meanwhile, Jennylyn has a witty reply to those who are calling her “taba.” She gained weight when she got pregnant and it is just normal. However, it is known to many that there are body-shamers who would say or write negative comments.
