The candidate of Guatemala for the Miss Universe 2023 pageant is the first one to take part who is married.
MISS UNIVERSE 2023 – Michelle Cohn of Guatemala is the first married woman to join the upcoming international pageant.
The upcoming Miss Universe international pageant this year will be held in El Salvador on November 18, 2023. The highly anticipated event will accordingly feature 90 women from around the globe.
And among these women is Guatemala’s Michelle Cohn.
She makes history as the first candidate to join who is married with two kids. She was crowned last August 6 and she will go against Michelle Dee, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 winner.
Cohn is a professional model and TV host. She is fluent both in Spanish and English. She is married to Andres Matheu and they have one son and one daughter together.
The Guatemalan beauty has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and communication from Galileo University in Guatemala City. She got her diploma in television and radio broadcasting from PCS Internacional.
She started her modeling career in 2011 and was one of the models featured at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Guatemala 2015. The following year, she gave birth to her son while she gave birth to her daughter in 2021.
Cohn is now 28 years old and she is a pageant veteran.
Before her latest pageant, she joined the following in the past:
- Reina Mundial del Banano 2013 and she was the 4th runner-up.
- Miss Grand International 2013 and she was unplaced.
- Miss América Latina del Mundo 2013 and she was the 3rd runner-up but was promoted to 2nd runner-up because the winner was dethroned.
When she was crowned Miss Universe Guatemala 2023, she happily shared her victory on her Instagram. In her post, she expressed, “Perseverance and consistent work is the key to success, thank you God🙏🏻 my opportunity is here, and it came when it had to.”
According to her, she’s been working since day one to prove what Guatemalan people are made of and now, she is working to prove more.
