DUMAGUETE TOURIST SPOTS – This city is in Negros Oriental and here are some must-visit places and top sites you should go to.
“The City Of The Gentle People” is Dumaguete. But apart from the amazing people, this place has a lot to offer in terms of natural wonders and cultural attractions, and landmarks.
There are so many awesome things to do in Duma. If you are a first-time traveler to this place, one of the first things to know is the famous spots and destinations to visit. Forbes Magazine even listed the city as among the “7 Best Places to Retire Around the World”.

- Rizal Boulevard
This is situated at the heart of the city and was named after the national hero Jose Rizal because this is where he spent his time whenever he is in this city. This is a perfect place to just chill and stroll around while eating street foods.
- Silliman University
This is a private research university and is also the first American school in the country. It was founded in 1901. One must visit the Silliman Hall, the Anthropology Museum, the university zoo, the marine laboratory, and Silliman Church.
- Apo Island
This is in Dauin and is a perfect spot to snorkel and scuba dive with fish, turtles, and beautiful coral gardens. This island serves as a home to 400 coral species and 650 documented fish species.
- Pulangbato Falls
This majestic spot is in Valencia and true to its name, the rocks there are in the shade of red. The lush greenery surrounding gives off a calming and relaxing ambiance along with the soft sounds of the waterfall.
- Casaroro Falls
This spot will require quite an adventure before you reach it. You will need to go through going down a terrain, muddy paths, and huge boulders. This is not for the fainthearted but it is going to be worth it.
- St. Catherine Of Alexandria Cathedral
This is the oldest stone church in Negros. The building has high ceilings, intricate chandeliers, and beautiful altarpieces.
- Tierra Alta Lighthouse
You surely won’t want to miss this as this place offers majestic views. The whole property has Greek-inspired architecture.
