7 Traffic Enforcers Sacked after Found Positive for Using Illegal Drugs in Silay City

Seven (7) traffic enforcers were sacked after being discovered positive for allegedly using illegal drugs in Silay City.

Silay City’s local administration fired seven traffic enforcers after they tested positive for illegal drug use. During a surprise drug test in this city, they were revealed to be taking illegal narcotics.

As part of the campaign to combat illegal drugs, Silay City Mayor Joedith Gallego contacted the Silay City Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 to conduct the surprise drug testing. The Silay City Traffic Enforcers were the first to be tested.

Following the drug testing, seven of them tested positive, and they were immediately discharged. They were submitted to a confirmatory test again, according to Silay City Chief of Police Lt. Col Mark Anthony Darroca, and they still tested positive for illegal narcotics.

Based on the report, five people tested positive for illegal drugs called shabu, while two tested positive for marijuana. Following that, 500 local government personnel from various offices were drug tested.

The local government is simply awaiting the results. The mayor urged the public to join the fight against illegal drugs in order to ensure the safety of every family and the people around them.
