Alden Richards talked about his past movie with Kathryn Bernardo and his new movie with Julia Montes
Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards revealed that his upcoming movie with Kapamilya actress Julia Montes is very emotional.
It is not Alden’s first time to be paired with a Kapamilya actress. Back in 2019, he did a blockbuster film with Kathryn Bernardo titled Hello, Love, Goodbye that reportedly earned PHP881 million.
Based on the article PEP, in a recent interview, Alden said that he is not claiming that his upcoming movie with Julia will surpass the success of his movie with Kathryn.
The actor stressed that the situation of Philippine cinema is far different from what it was years ago. “So, ako po, regardless of the box-office performance, I know that we have a great movie. It’s not a good movie, but a great movie,” Alden Richards said.
The Kapuso star also said the movie he had with Kathryn gave a different effect and that comparison is inevitable. He admitted that with the success of HLG, he became afraid of just accepting projects so easily.
“Pero ganon po kasi, after po ng Hello, Love, Goodbye, di na po ako tumanggap ng mga offers. Kasi, natatakot po ako na baka maka-affect po sa akin. It’s a career decision. Siyempre, kung may tatanggapin ka, kung hindi man kapantay, yung higit pa sana,” Alden said.
However, he realized that he should not be boxed by his past project. Alden shared that he really missed doing movies after taking a break for many years.
Then, he was offered a project with Julia. Alden just let the flow take him and when he read the script, he said that it was beautifully written.
The actor said that in Five Break-Ups and a Romance, his role is like a mature Ethan, his character in HLG. Alden Richards admitted that this movie with Julia Montes made him cry.
“After ko po siyang panoorin, two minutes po ako na hindi ko mapigilang umiyak kasi ang lalim,” the Pambansang Bae shared.
