MMFF 2023 – Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s Star Cinema project is among the MMFF 2023 entries and here are the others.
The 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) announced on Monday the first four official entries of this year’s film festival. Previously, MMFF revealed that 26 scripts from 32 production companies have been sent to them.
And the top 4 scripts were selected based on the following criteria:
- artistic excellence (40%)
- commercial appeal (40%)
- Filipino cultural sensibility (10%)
- global appeal (10%)
These are the first 4 official entries:
- REWIND (Romance Drama)
- Executive Producers: Carlo Katigbak and Kriz Anthony Gazmen
- Director: Mae Cruz-Alviar
- Starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
- PENDUKO (Fantasy Action)
- Executive Producer: Jane Basas
- Director: Jason Paul Laxamana
- Starring Matteo Guidicelli and Cristine Reyes
- K(AMPON) (Horror Thriller)
- Executive Producer: Josabeth Alonso
- Director: King Palisoc
- Starring Beauty Gonzales and Derek Ramsay
- A MOTHER AND SON’S STORY (Drama)
- Executive Producers: Enrico Roque, Patrick Meneses, Jacky Lim
- Director: Nuel Naval
- Starring Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards
This year, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) acting chairman Atty. Romando Artes expressed that they are hoping to surpass last year’s Php 500 million mark in terms of earnings.
“Ma-hit lang natin ‘yung P500 (million) okay na. Hindi pa naman tayo fully recovered, ine-encourage na bumalik sa sinehan pero sila mismo ‘yung nagsabi na confident sila na masu-surpass ‘yung previous year,” he said based on a report from ABS-CBN.
The four remaining entries to complete the list will be chosen from finished film submissions and the deadline for the finished film submissions is on September 29.
