Female Commuter Shares Embarrassing Experience for Having No Enough Cash to Pay e-Jeep Fare
CASHLESS ERA – A female commuter goes viral and earns reactions online after sharing her cashless dilemma and the importance of carrying cash.
In a lighthearted manner, netizen Gelai Alera recently shared her experience with the “cashless era,” sparking some humorous reactions online.
According to her story, she found herself short of change when it came time to pay for her ejeep fare. When Gelai asked the conductor if she could pay using an e-wallet, he declined.

“I was panicking internally, pero mas malala yung kahihiyan talaga so in my desperation, I used the ‘do u accept gcash po?’ line baka sakaling puwede, e hindi raw” Gelai narrated.
Reflecting on this experience, Alera realized the importance of carrying cash. She advised her fellow commuters to bring cash all the time.

“Always make sure to bring cash pa rin talaga! Kung saan saan ako nakakarating nang walang ibang dala kundi phone as a risk-taker, pero grabe pala yung kahihiyan na aabutin kapag napunta ka sa ganu’ng sitwasyon,” Gelai stated.
Her anecdote serves as a reminder that despite the convenience of digital payment methods, it is still essential to have physical cash on hand. Unexpected situations, like the one Gelai encountered, can arise where cash is necessary.
While embracing technology and cashless transactions is undoubtedly convenient, having a backup in the form of cash can save one from potential awkward encounters or difficulties.
Netizens found Gelai’s story relatable, sharing their own experiences and lessons learned. It serves as a humorous reminder that even in the era of digital payments, cash still holds its value.
