Gerald Anderson talked about his most memorable roles

Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson cited two characters that he portrayed as his favorites over the course of his career in showbiz.

Gerald is one of the most in-demand actors of ABS-CBN. Over the years, he has already done several movies and TV series on his home network since he started his showbiz journey through the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Gerald shared the roles that he did in the past that he considers his favorites.

The Kapamilya actor said that one of his favorites is the Budoy character that he did in 2011. “Siguro ‘yung mga roles na may social impact katulad ng ginawa kong ‘Budoy’,” Gerald Anderson said.

He added that through this role, people had a wider perspective when it comes to people with special needs. Through this, he was able to show the public what a person with special needs goes through and the sacrifices of the parents as well.

The actor also shared that there were times when he would be in the mall and parents with children with special needs would approach him and thank him because of his Budoy role. “So ‘yun ‘yung mga klase ng roles and ‘yun ‘yung in the future sana ay gagawin ko, ‘yung may social impact. May matututunan,” Gerald shared.

Another role that he mentioned as his favorite was the soldier character he played with Jake Cuenca.

In the year when the said series was released, the PMA (Philippine Military Academy) enrollment raised to 300 percent.

So kapag minsan dumadalaw ako sa kampo ng militar, may pa-charity kami, lalapit sakin na sumali sila sa PMA dahil napanood nila ‘yung show. Iba ‘yung pakiramdam,” Gerald Anderson said.
