Tito Sotto and the Dabarkads want to use the title of the longest-running noontime show
Veteran showbiz personality Tito Sotto said that they are still waiting for Eat Bulaga because they really intend to use the title that Henyo Master Joey de Leon.
Tito, Vic, and Joey are the pioneer hosts of the longest-running noontime show in the Philippine entertainment industry. When the conflict between the show’s host and Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.) occurred and eventually led to the trio’s decision to leave the production company.
TVJ intends to use the title and bring it to TV5 where they launched their new show on July 1. The veteran hosts led the show with the legit Dabarkads with the title EAT (Eto Ang Totoo).
The pilot episode received the most number of viewers on online platforms compared to other noontime shows It’s Showtime on GTV and TAPE’s Eat Bulaga on GMA.
After the airing of the pilot episode, in a statement, Tito Sotto said that they are waiting for the legal issues to arrive at a conclusion as they also want to use the Eat Bulaga title for their TV5 show. “Technically, we are still waiting for Eat Bulaga talaga,” the former Senate President said, based on the post on News5’s Twitter page.
Tito Sen is confident that the court will favor them and grant them the right to use the title that Joey coined. He said that they are waiting for the court’s decision in order for them to officially use the title.
During the pilot episode, EAT featured their family, friends, and avid viewers in the audience. The loved ones of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon were sitting at the audience area and enjoyed their show.
