Awra Briguela remains in detention
Celebrity Awra Briguela is now facing physical injuries, alarm and scandal, disobedience to authority, and direct assault after the brawl in Makati City.
On June 29, videos of Awra having a fight with a group of people circulated on social media. It can be seen in the viral video that the police handcuffed her and this did not sit well with many netizens because they reasoned out that the arrest was too forceful.
In a report from Inquirer, it was stated that the celebrity is still in detention, as of this writing. Southern Police District (SPD) reported that allegedly Awra started the fight at t the Bolt Hole Bar in Poblacion, Makati. Then, she was apprehended by police at about 5 a.m. on Thursday.
Allegedly, Awra Briguela started fighting against the group of complainant Mark Christian Ravana. Reportedly, Awra and her companions approached the complainant and demanded that he remove his shirt.
When Ravana refused to do what the 19-year-old Kapamilya star told him, she allegedly, started the trouble. It was alleged that Awra grabbed the complainant’s shirt and tore it. This sparked the argument and Awra’s friends fought along with her.
With the bar bouncer, Angelo Nino Gulmatico, Ravana reported the incident to the police and they responded immediately. However, it was alleged that Awra Briguela resisted arrest. The celebrity was also accused of using profane language while the authorities tried to contain and handcuffed her.
In a now-deleted Facebook post, content creator Zayla Nakajima, a friend of Awra defended her. Zayla claimed Ravana was trying to harass her and that Awra was merely defending her. Based on the report, Awra Briguela will remain in custody until inquest proceedings.
