Herlene Budol talked about her new pageant journey
Kapuso actress Herlene Budol admitted that she thought of backing out from the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 competition.
Herlene first pageant was Binibining Pilipinas 2022. She was tagged as the “hakot award” because she received most of the special awards. She was hailed as first runner-up and was supposed to represent the Philippines in the Miss Planet International in Uganda last year but this was a disaster.
Once again, Herlene set her feet on the pageant stage. Before the pageant proper happens, she went viral again.
During the media conference that was held after the sashing ceremony, Herlene Budol became the talk of the town due to how she answered the question. For some, it was inappropriate for her to have a “dogshow” answer while others said that it was a breath of fresh air.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Herlene admitted that she thought of ending her pageant journey. She was thinking of not pushing through her Miss Grand Philippines 2023 journey because she already has anticipation that she will not be allowed to win.
However, due to her manager Wilbert Tolentino, she continued her journey. She said that this time, she will give back to her manager.
“Ibinigay niya sa akin ang lahat ng kaligayahan na meron sa akin ngayon. Gusto ko naman yung kaligayahan niya. Ako naman po, hindi ako gumagawa ng bagay na hindi ako nag-agree sa sarili ko. This time po, walang kapalit. Last time kasi may bahay at lupa,” Herlene said.
She stressed that this time around, she wants to make her manager happy which makes her happy as well. The Kapuso actress added that she also wants to prove something for herself.
Herlene Budol also admitted that the criticism against her made her think of not pushing through in the competition.
