ABS-CBN Continues Deal w/ TV5 Amid New Deal w/ GMA

ABS-CBN continues its partnership with different media companies

ABS-CBN just recently inked a deal with TV5 amid its new contract with GMA for the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime.

Despite the fact of not having a franchise, the Kapamilya network continues to provide shows for its digital platforms and through its partnerships with other networks, its shows are also being aired on free TV.

Based on the article in Pang-Masa, the Kapamilya network signed a contract with TV5 just recently.

The contract will allow ABS-CBN’s shows to be aired on TV5 such as FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, The Iron Heart, Dirty Linen, and The Tale of Nokdu. For the Sunday time slots, Everybody Sing and ASAP Natin ‘To will be aired on the Kapatid network.

The deal between the two networks when it comes to the noontime slot will officially end on June 30. This is the reason why It’s Showtime inked a new partnership with GTV, the network also owned by GMA.

The Kapamilya and Kapatid networks are also having a partnership for the afternoon series Pira Pirasong Paraiso and Nagbabagang Damdamin. These are set to be launched in July for TV5’s Hapon Champion block.

GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon said that with this partnership, the “TV war is over.” It’s Showtime hosts expressed happiness for the opportunity given to their show and gratitude for GMA for providing them with a new home.
