Gabriela Reacts the Appointment of Gadon as Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation
Gabriela Partylist condemned the appointment of Atty Larry Gadon as the presidential adviser for poverty alleviation.
Arlene Brosas of the Gabriela party list responds to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr’s appointment of Larry Gadon. In a statement, the congressman called Gadon’s nomination a “clownish approach” to addressing the country’s poverty and hunger.
“President Marcos Jr.’s appointment of lawyer Larry Gadon, who is known for his vulgar language and disbarment cases, as Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation reflects the administration’s clownish approach in addressing hunger and poverty in the country,” said Brosas.
“A lawyer who once maligned and verbally assaulted a female journalist with misogynist remarks, and who has been suspended twice by the Supreme Court for his foul language has no right to be on the presidential payroll,” added Lady Solon.
According to Brosas, Gadon is also a “certified red-tagger,” and those pushing for his disbarment are “NPA coddlers.” Brosas maintained that addressing the country’s poverty requires addressing the country’s lack of arable land and employment.
“Creating a new position at the executive branch and filling it up with the most unqualified person is certainly not a step towards such comprehensive solution,” said Brosas.
