Vice Ganda Allegedly Throws Shade at TV5 Following Transfer to GMA Network
Comedian and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda allegedly throws shade at TV5 network following transfer to GMA Network.
The statement of the Unkabogable comedian has created a stir online, with netizens speculating that it was a dig at the TV5 network. Netizens observed his jest on their shift from TV5 to GMA Network in the “Rampanalo” part of the noontime show “It’s Showtime” last Friday, June 23.
The candidate was invited to choose a number from 10 held by the hosts in the aforementioned part, and vice and co-host Tyang Amy Perez also asked the crowd what number they desired.
Vice and his co-host Amy Perez noted that the audience was trying to persuade the candidate to pick number five. Amy stated, “Parang lahat number 5.”
Vice then began to make a joke about the numbers. He stated that he would prefer the number ‘7’, the GMA Network channel, above the number ‘5’, the TV5 channel.
“Dahil magkakaiba, ako na ang pipili. Seven ang number natin.” Vice then said.
The participant took Vice’s advise and chose number 7, but he had to change his mind. “Ang magandang ka-partner ng 7 ay number 2.” the host said, hinting the partnership between Channel 7 and 2.
The TV host-comedian’s diatribe was quickly reposted on Twitter by netizens. According to netizens, Vice is heading to TV5, owing to what happened in the noontime slot, which has already gone to TVJ.
It’s Showtime has chose not to renew its contract with TV5, citing claims that they would be obliged to move the timeslot to accommodate the planned noontime show created by former Eat Bulaga stars Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
It’s Showtime has a new “home” as a result of this. It will also be broadcast on GTV, GMA Network’s sister channel, beginning July 1. He reaffirmed in the 24 Oras interview with Vice that he has no hatred against TVJ.
He did, however, emphasize that they couldn’t help but feel sorry after leaving TV5, which was also IS’s home for several months. It’s Showtime fans hailed the decision, adding that greater competition would be beneficial.
