Rendon Labador Admits The Price of His Viral “Motivational Rice” Drops at P50

The so-called “motivational speaker” Rendon Labador admitted that the price of his controversial “motivational rice” is now P50.

Rendon’s “motivational rice” at his Episode Bar + Kitchen has been the focus of social media debate and controversy after its pricing was set at P100 per serving. He claimed that he established the high price to encourage Filipinos to persevere in order to afford the rice.

This time, though, he has cut the price of motivational rice in half. Rendon disclosed in a video posted by food and travel blogger Manuel Olaza that his pub has a secret menu where the price of his rice is half of what it used to be.

The video which the motivational speaker and vlogger reposted on his Facebook account. He stated in the video’s caption that he is doing this for the Filipino people.

“Bagsak presyo para sa mga Pilipino #MotivationalRice,” the caption of the video reposted on Rendon’s FB page read.

Rendon was also shown discussing his bar’s’secret menu’ in the video. “Yung secret menu kasi, to serve the community. Kasama naman talaga sa plan nung una pa lang kasi siyempre nasa QC area tayo, wala tayo sa high-end na lugar.”

“Kung maglalagay ka ng isang high-end restaurant sa hindi high-end na lugar, so parang contradicting,” he added.

The motivational speaker went on to say that this is his way of giving back to the neighborhood in which his bar is located. Rendon, on the other hand, confirmed that his high-end menu remains, but they created a cheap menu for individuals who cannot yet afford the high-end one.

“To serve the community even more, talagang dapat merong secret menu,” Rendon said, adding “siyempre para mas maraming tao ang makapag try ng good food.”

“Meron pa tayong high-end menu, tapos meron tayong affordable menu, para pwede mong piliin kung ano ang afford mo.Di pa rin namin tinanggal yung high end. Kasi yun nga yung motivation dun eh, para ma motivate ka at ma-afford yung deserve mo sa buhay, yun yung advocacy natin,” he added.
