TVJ Plans to Return Wow Mali, Iskul Bukol in TV Under Their Productions
Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ) planned to return the Wow Mali and Iskul Bukol in TV5 under their productions.
During the media conference for the new TVJ show, the production company formed by the trio reportedly stated that they planned to bring back some classic shows, including ‘Wow Mali,’ and ‘Iskul Bukol.’ According to TV5’s Mediaquest president and CEO Jane Basas, they intend to convince TVJ to bring the shows back.
Iskul Bukol is a show about the Escalera brothers, Tito, Vic, and Joey Ungasis, aired from 1978 to 1988. Meanwhile, ‘Wow Mali,’ a comedic gag show hosted by Joey de Leon and famed for timeless pranks that continue to go viral today.
“We’re actually re-launching ‘Wow Mali’ very soon. Nilalambing namin sila for ‘Iskul Bukol’, so meron pong pag-uusap na ganoon. But in the context of the shared agreement today, ang pinaka-importanteng araw po was actually May 31, and this is when we received a formal letter kung open kami for discussion. And the rest is history.” said Basas.
Aside from the two shows, TV5 and TVJ producers are discussing potential new shows. Because TVJ now has its own producers, they have more leeway in developing their programs.
They may earn more money because they own the production of their shows. Tito revealed that TVJ Production was founded immediately after the decision to depart TAPE Inc. on May 31, 2023. The aforementioned production company will also handle their upcoming noontime show on TV5.
