When Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” did not include dates in the Philippines, Filipino fans were saddened and dismayed. On June 21, Taylor announced the schedule for her massive world tour, which will last until September 2024. Additionally, she shared the new dates on her social media platforms.

According to the itinerary, Singapore and Japan are the only Asian nations that Taylor Swift will stop by. Singapore is the only country from Southeast Asia on the list, in fact.

When Manila was left out of Taylor’s new tour itinerary, her fanbase, known as Pinoy Swifties, was heartbroken and shocked. They responded by posting on social media.

The fan group Swifties Philippines, which organized Taylor-related events throughout the nation, posted on Facebook about how heartbroken they are.

“This tour announcement is truly heartbreaking…we don’t know if there’s still hope…but still,” the group said.

“To every Filipino Swifties who’s putting their hearts and efforts to show how much we love Taylor Swift and her music, we still have each other,” it added.

The group then, feeling sad, attempted to lift their members’ spirits.

“There are no wasted efforts— only fun memories, friendships, and bonds, and to all the gatherings we made, we had the time of our lives, and we will still continue to make more unforgettable experiences as Swifties,” the group said.

A fan account named @TSwiftBirthday on Twitter posted a video that showed how loud the Manila audience was during Taylor’s “Red Tour” in the Philippines. Her last show for a Filipino audience was this one.

“The way Taylor never came back to the Philippines after singing ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ as a closing track on ‘Red Tour Manila,’” the netizen tweeted.

Ayn Bernos, a former contestant for Miss Universe Philippines 2020, added her voice to the online cry out of dismay.

Since last year, Filipino fans have been pleading with the multiple award-winning performer to visit their country once more.

Quezon City in Manila was one of Taylor Swift’s Top Five Spotify Listeners in 2017, according to data from the streaming service, Spotify.
