8 4Ps Beneficiaries Involved in Illegal Drugs Arrested in Laguna
Police authorities arrested eight (8) beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) after being involved in illegal drugs.
Eight recipients of the government’s 4Ps have been imprisoned after being apprehended in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by authorities in Laguna. Four of the apprehended individuals are from Liliw, three are from Alaminos, and one is from Freedom.
According to Laguna Police Chief Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio, the 8 people apprehended in the operation were all recipients of the 4Ps in their respective districts. He stated that he immediately advised that the suspects be removed from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) list of 4Ps.
According to Memorandum Circular No 038, series of 2020, any beneficiary of the aforementioned government program who is involved in unlawful activities like as narcotics, gambling, or drinking alcohol must be reprimanded by having their names removed from the list.
The aforementioned law provides P300 per month for each child enrolled in daycare and elementary school for 10 months per year, P500 for junior high school, and P700 for senior high school. In addition, P750 per month for health and P600 per month for rice.
