Eat Bulaga featured these segments that were loved by the viewers
The longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga had these memorable segments over the years that made a mark in many Filipinos’ lives.
For more than four decades, the show has provided “isang libo’t, isang tuwa” not just for people in the Philippines but also for Filipinos abroad. The show featured different segments that were indeed well-loved.
Based on the article in PEP, one of the memorable segments was the Bulagaan. In this segment, the hosts are in a classroom setting where they would do a “knock knock” song for their answer.
Many Filipinos also loved the pageant-like contest like Mr. Pogi. This is where A-list actor Jericho Rosales was discovered. For ladies, the pageant Beautiful Girl was created.
There were also pageants for young boys and girls. That’s My Boy and Little Miss Philippines opened doors for a lot of kids in the entertainment industry like Ice Seguerra who is formerly known as Aiza.
A pageant for the gay community was also featured by Eat Bulaga and it was called Super Sireyna. Then, there was a Doble Kara segment as contestants would sing both the part of the woman and the part of the man in a duet song.
The noontime show also dedicated a portion to house angels. This segment was called Maid in the Philippines.
A game show format was also featured in the show, the ever-famous Laban o Bawi. In this segment, the popularity of the S=xbomb dancers skyrocketed. In later years, viewers loved the Sugod Bahay in which the hosts would go to certain barangays and choose a winner, and would provide “papremyo” to many residents.
In that segment, the Kalyeserye was born and the accidental pairing of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza happened, and this became a big hit. The AlDub loveteam rose. Viewers of Eat Bulaga also love the newer segments Pinoy Henyo and Bawal Judgmental.
