Stepdad in Quezon City Accused of Molestation by Stepdaughter
A 45-year-old stepdad from Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City has been arrested and is facing charges after his stepdaughter came forward with allegations of molestation.
The 15-year-old girl confided in her teacher by writing a note expressing her concerns, which led to the stepfather’s arrest. The incident has raised serious concerns about child safety and the need for stronger protection measures.
The revelation occurred when students were asked by their teacher to express any concerns or issues they may have had.
The stepdaughter wrote about being molested on multiple occasions, but she did not disclose the name of the perpetrator in her note, making it initially difficult to identify the student involved.
However, the teacher noticed the distressed behavior of the young girl and took it upon herself to investigate further.
The concerned teacher immediately sought assistance from social workers and the police. The suspect was apprehended during an operation conducted by the Quezon City Culiat station on Friday, June 9, 2023.
Before this incident, the teacher had already suspected that something was amiss with the girl, according to Quezon City Police Station 14 station commander Police Lt. Col. May Genio.
“Yung adviser nila, nagpa-submit ng papel kung saan isusulat nila concerns nila or anything na gusto nila iparating pero wala silang mapagsabihan. So wala itong pangalan. Napansin niya itong batang ito so hinanap niya ito,” Genio said.
During the initial investigation, the victim remained silent, prompting authorities to conduct a thorough follow-up. The stepfather vehemently denied the allegations, asserting that he had never committed such acts against his child.
The suspect claimed that he had raised her since she was a young child, having brought her from Mindanao. He insisted on his innocence, stressing that lying about such serious accusations would be a grave sin against God.
Currently, the complainant is under the care of the Social Services Development Department in Quezon City. The stepfather may face charges of statutory rape and child abuse.
