Police Got Stabbed During Traffic Fight with Tricycle Driver in Cavite
A police officer suffered stab wound after allegedly got stabbed by a tricycle driver during a traffic altercation in Imus City, Cavite.
Fortunately, a member of the Philippine National Police (PNP) suffered only minor injuries after being stabbed by a tricycle driver with whom he had a traffic dispute in Imus City, Cavite. Police Chief Master Sergeant Benedict Cruz III y Tagle, 46, is a member of the Police Security and Protection Group of Camp Crame.
According to the report, the stabbed police officer is being treated at Imus Medical Center for a knife wound to the body. The alleged tricycle driver, 47-year-old Leo Buawan y Basilan, was apprehended.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Jessie Villanueva of the Imus City Police Station, the incident occurred about 10:20 last night in Pag-asa 2 where the two allegedly had a disagreement owing to traffic. The police officer was on a motorbike, while the suspect was on a tricycle.
The two got into a heated dispute, at which point the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the police officer. Because operatives from Police Community Precinct 7 were monitoring the neighborhood at the time, the offender was apprehended instantly, and the victim was brought to the hospital.
