A report surfaced stating that TVJ and MVP already sealed the deal
Legendary trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, also known as TVJ, reportedly, signed a contract with billionaire businessman Manny V. Pangilinan’s Mediaquest Group for the new show of Dabarkads on TV5.
Previously, reports surfaced that Tito Sen was negotiating with Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, the owner of Brightligh Productions, a block timer on the Kapatid network. The former Senate President even said in an interview that the offer from Benitez’s company was really good.
Following the mass exodus of Eat Bulaga hosts and staff from TAPE Inc, rumors about the Dabarkads’ network transfer to TV5 even hyped up.
Based on the article in bilyonaryo.com, TVJ and MVP already came up with a final decision regarding their deal. It was said that days after the unexpected announcement that the iconic trio did on Eat Bulaga, they already had a deal with Mediaquest Group.
“Led by bilyonaryo Manny V. Pangilinan, Mediaquest Group has inked a groundbreaking agreement to welcome TVJ, along with their co-hosts and creative staff from “Eat Bulaga,” to TV5,” the article dated June 6 stated.
Fans of the longest-running noontime show have been waiting for the next move that Tito, Vic, and Joey will do, including the fate of other hosts and staff members. Reportedly, the new show of Dabarkads will take over the noontime slot on TV5 currently occupied by Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime.
According to the report, the shows will be reshuffled and It’s Showtime will be more likely to be placed in the pre-prime time slot. A source said that TVJ is eager to start the new show this coming month.
Reportedly, Mediaquest and ABS-CBN are negotiating regarding the plan to move It’s Showtime to a new time slot. It was also shared by the source that the trio is planning to call the new show “TVJ Dabarkads” or “EATsang Libo’t EATsang tuwa” as the Eat Bulag trademark has not yet been formally granted to anyone.
In a report from Latest Chika on June 7, this is already confirmed by Mediaquest president and CEO Jane Basas. “I’m happy that Tito, Vic, and Joey will now call TV5 their home,” she said in a statement.
