2 Men Yields Illegal Drugs After Scolded for Smoking in Public in Caloocan City
Police arrested two (2) men after illegal drugs were found in their possession when they were scolded for smoking in a public place in Caloocan City.
Two men are in jail after being discovered smoking in a public location in Caloocan City and carrying P36,000 in high-grade marijuana. Caloocan police chief P/Col. Ruben Lacuesta identified that suspects as Ronald Oliva Jr, 20, and Gabriel Abamonga alias “Gab,” 20.
According to Col. Lacuesta’s report to Northern Police District (NPD) Director PBGen Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr, Caloocan Police Station 1 troops conducted an anti-criminality campaign and patrolled along A. Brgy. Mabini, Mabini St. 22 when they saw two guys lingering in a public spot, clearly in violation of city legislation.
Based on the report, when the officers approached and asked for their identity cards to issue an ordinance violation receipt (OVR), the two fled, prompting the officers to pursue them. Around 5:50 p.m., they were cornered on the side of the Ambassador Funeral.
When the arresting officers asked them to show the contents of their pockets, they discovered two transparent plastic ziplock bags containing approximately 26 grams of suspected high grade marijuana (kush) with a standard drug price value of P36,400.00. The suspects will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
