No more politics for Bong Revilla after his current term?

Actor-politician Bong Revilla shared that he is planning to end his political career in 2025 after his term as a Senator.

Bong entered the political arena in 1995 when he won as vice governor in Cavite. In 1998, he ran for governor and won. Following his local positions, he served as Senator in several terms.

He was part of the 13th Congress from 2004-2007; 14th Congress (2007-2010); 15th Congress (2010-2013), 16th Congress (2013-2016), 18th Congress (2019-2022), and 19th Congress (2022-2025).

Amid his duty as a public servant, Bong Revilla continues doing his showbiz engagements. His upcoming Kapuso sitcom is Walang Matigas Na Pulis sa Matinik sa Misis with Beauty Gonzalez and Max Collins.

In a recent interview, based on the article by Manila Bulletin entertainment writer Robert Requintina, the actor-politician said that he will end his political career after his term in 2025. “Hindi ha. Ayoko na n’yan. Ayoko ng sakit ng ulo. Sa kanila na yan,” he said when asked if he is planning to run for a higher position next elections.

He added that he will just support others. The Kapuso star said that he will just help to whoever needed help. “Yung lahat ng naging sakop ko bilang senador, tulad ng laban sa droga, yan gagawin natin para maproteksyunan natin ang mga kabataan,” Bong said.

The actor-politician also said that he has been through a lot. He was most loved and then he became the most hated. Bong said that he just wants to spend his remaining days to make people happy.

Bong Revilla’s wife Lani Mercado said that she will support whatever decision the actor-politician will have.
