Gigi de Lana is recovering from an accident
Singer Gigi de Lana narrated the car accident they encountered and the moment she fainted on stage while performing.
Gigi and her band figured in a car accident on May 15 when they were traveling from Aurora to Ilocos Norte for the Himala sa Buhangin event. They all decided to push through with their gig because they only got minor injuries.
In an interview on Julius and Tintin Babao’s show on One PH, Gigi shared that they immediately went to the doctor after the accident. Since they only have minor injuries and the urge of professionalism in them, they wanted to perform for the people in Ilocos Norte.
The singer revealed that from their gig in Baler, they initially thought that they will travel to Ilocos Norte in the morning. However, they decided to go right after the gig. While traveling Gigi de Lana was lying down at the back of the driver as she was sleeping.
She said that their driver and two other companions in the front of the car were talking to each other. However, those sitting in the passenger’s seat behind the driver did not notice that the driver fell asleep and they thought that driver intended to stop at the side of the road but they noticed that the speed of the car was still the same.
At that point, they shouted and the driver woke up and was able to step on the brake but the impact on the truck in front of them was still so intense that their car was wrecked.
Gigi also shared what she felt during their performance. “Kasi po, di ba po after the accident hindi mo naman agad mararamdaman lahat eh,” she said. However, when she was already on stage, she felt that she was not okay already. She felt that anytime she will blackout.
“Hindi naman po ako totally hinimatay, talagang nahilo na, naramdaman ko ang lahat ng sakit,” the singer said. She also said that she can’t control her voice at that time.
Currently, Gigi de Lana is recovering and she said that the left side of her body is still in pain.
