It was a “show must go on” for Gigi de Lana and her band
Singer Gigi de Lana fainted on stage while performing at the Himala sa Buhangin event in Ilocos Norte on May 14.
Gigi rose to fame following her stint in It’s Showtime‘s Tawag ng Tanghalan. She is known for her versatility when it comes to singing and she also did some acting stints. Gigi is loved for the range of her voice.
She also being admired for her ability to give her own rendition of cover songs. For quite some time, Gigi and her band are performing online, especially amid the pandemic.
When the restrictions eased up, Gigi de Lana and her band are among many performers who started accepting gigs in other provinces. Her recent gig was in Ilocos Norte but when they traveled to the event from Aurora a mishap happened.
The singer shared a photo of her wrecked car. However, she said in a statement that every one of them in the car was okay and that her gig in Ilocos Norte will go on as scheduled.
Hours after Gigi shared that post, ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe shared a photo of the singer while she was performing and it showed that she had arm/shoulder brace.
MJ also shared that based on social media personality Krissy Achino’s statement, Gigi fainted during her performance. It was said that the singer was already looking tired by the time she performed her second song and then, she fainted.
Medical personnel and production staff were quick to respond and they bought Gigi to the backstage.
As of this writing, the management of Gigi de Lana has not released a statement yet about this matter.
