PNP is Monitoring 3000 Cops Allegedly Involved in Illegal Activities

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now monitoring 3000 cops who are allegedly involved in illegal activities.

According to PNP Chief of Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr., 3000 police officers have been placed on a counter-intelligence blacklist for allegedly engaging in criminal operations. According to Acorda, aberrant cops are involved in extortion, illegal drugs, and case rigging.

“May extortion, may involvement sa illegal drugs, mga pangongotong, at bangketa,” said PNP Chief.

Based on the study, Acorda said that as a former PNP intelligence chief, he knew which police officers were corrupted. As part of the PNP purge, the 3,000 accused police scumbags were now being intensively monitored and cases were being constructed against them.

Acorda also informed the public that they should not be afraid to denounce police officers who engage in illegal activity. He emphasized that intelligence operatives will work tirelessly on these cases to put an end to these illicit activities.

“Talagang ta-trabahohin ng ating mga intelligence operatives to make sure na hindi na sila gagawa ng kalokohan,” he said, based on the article of GMA News.

Meanwhile, Acorda announced that the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) Special Operating Units (SOU) in all regions would be disbanded following the arrest of a police officer in an October 2022 raid in which 990 kilos of shabu were confiscated. He stated that the regional offices will be integrated in order to ensure that activities and operations are monitored.

“‘Yung mga regional offices ay I consolidate na to make sure that the activities and operations are really monitored,” Acorda added.
