Will Tropang LOL find a new home?
Brightlight Productions’ noontime show Tropang LOL is negotiating with NET25 after it ended its stint on TV5.
After two years, the Kapatid noontime show bid goodbye. It aired its last episode on April 29, 2023. To recall, that episode went viral as host Alex Gonzaga joked about not allowing the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime to enter on time.
ABS-CBN’s noontime show collaborated with TV5 and so their timeslot was adjusted. The former rival shows were aired back-to-back.
Following the end of that chapter, new possibilities are being introduced. Tropang LOL supervising producer Ms. Pat-P Daza of Brightlight Productions shared that negotiation is now happening between them and NET25, based on the article in PEP.
However, there is no finality yet, as of this writing. The production company said that their main goal now is to continue providing jobs for the staff and the hosts. It was said that everyone in the show became really close.
Some comments surfaced that when the noontime show will eventually be on NET25, it had to go through restrictions.
The network’s president Caesar Vallejos clarified that they are a commercial network but they want their entertainment programs to be wholesome.
“As a commercial TV station, we accept sponsorships, we accept TV advertising and we get corporate sponsors. So our programming is in the general entertainment cluster. Hindi kami doon sa… we are not supposed to be in the news and religious cluster,” Vallejos said.
It was said that if ever Tropang LOL will transfer to NET25, the show is willing to entertain changes in order to follow the network’s guidelines.
