Vic Sotto was asked if he is planning to file a case against TAPE Inc.
Veteran comedian-host Vic Sotto has not received his talent fee from his hosting stint in Eat Bulaga for quite a long time already and here’s what he answered when asked if his planning to sue Television and Production Exponents Incorporated (TAPE Inc.).
Vic recently confirmed that TAPE has debt to him for not paying his talent fee. Initially, his brother Tito Sotto said that it already reached P30 million. However, Vic corrected that and said that it was Joey de Leon’s unpaid talent fee which is P30 million but the TAPE’s debt to him already exceeded that amount.
Previously, Tito said that he was already seeking the help of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regarding this matter as allegedly, TAPE was deducting his taxes even though his over P30 million talent fee was not yet paid.
Based on the article in The Philippine Star, despite this huge amount, Vic Sotto said that he has no plan to bring this matter to court.
“Wala, hindi ako gan’un. Kung mababayaran ako, eh ‘di well and good. Kung hindi naman, eh ‘di, ayos lang,” Bossing said. When asked if TAPE would not pay him, Vic said that it is okay with him if the production company can’t really pay him.
With this statement from the veteran comedian-host about not minding if TAPE will pay him or not, a reporter commented that he is indeed a very wealthy man.
Vic responded, “Hindi naman! Hindi lahat nadadaan sa pera.” He added that principle is more important to him than material things. The Eat Bulaga host also shared that he and TAPE are in talks regarding the debt. Aside from him, the production company also owed Joey de Leon.
