Heartbroken Student, Now a Certified Electrical Engineer After Being Ghosted by First Love
Bench Lee Abadilla, a heartbroken student becomes a certified electrical engineer after being ghosted by his first love.
From heartbreak to triumph, Bench Lee Abadilla’s story is one of perseverance and determination. Despite being ghosted by his first love, he has emerged as a successful certified electrical engineer at the young age of 23.
Abadilla was a first-year engineering student when he met his nursing student girlfriend, who captured his heart. However, due to their different universities and Abadilla’s focus on his studies, they rarely saw each other.
Bench was a student achiever and aimed for Latin honors, pouring all his attention into his studies. Despite their growing distance, Abadilla was blindsided when his girlfriend suddenly stopped contacting him.
He was heartbroken, but he refused to let it derail his ambitions. He persevered and graduated as a Cum Laude from the Cebu Institute of Technology-University in 2022.
“Thank you for ghosting me, Engineer na ako ngayon,” Abadilla wrote in the caption.
Following graduation, Abadilla turned his attention to the April 2023 Registered Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination, which he diligently prepared for at the CEERS review center from November 2022 to April 2023.
On May 3, 2023, the results of the exam were released, and Abadilla was among the 3,339 examinees who passed and became a certified electrical engineer.
Abadilla’s biggest takeaway from his journey is to always prioritize his parents’ welfare and give back to them. He believes that love will come in its own time, and he trusts in the Lord’s plan for him.
Looking ahead, Abadilla plans to continue improving his skills and capabilities through technical experience and training. He plans to pursue an ETO certification within the next 1-2 years.
