A Cavite student goes viral and earns praises form the online community for treating and adopting a stray cat with eye complication.
A student from Cavite, Philippines has won the hearts of many after taking care of a stray cat with an eye complication. Jhed Diokno, a 29-year-old second-year psychology student from Kawit, Cavite, did not hesitate to bring the cat home and nurse it back to health.
According to Diokno, he saw the cat on the street on his way home from school in Imus, Cavite. He named the cat Kazuha and immediately noticed that its eye was severely damaged, with blood coming out of it.
Despite the cat accidentally bumping into him and staining his white pants with blood, Diokno took it upon himself to bring Kazuha to the nearest veterinarian for treatment.
At first, Diokno thought that Kazuha might not survive due to its weakened condition and the stick that was still embedded in its eye. But he persevered and visited the cat every day after school, encouraging it to stay strong.
Fortunately, Kazuha made a full recovery under Diokno’s care, although it was not able to open its eyes again.
Diokno promised to be the cat’s eyes for the rest of its life, and many netizens were touched by his story when he shared it on a Facebook group called “CATS & KITTENS Philippines.”
The story serves as a reminder that even small acts of kindness, such as taking care of a stray cat, can have a big impact on the world.
