PDEA Strictly Monitors “Happy Water” to Prevent Entry in the Country
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency strictly monitors the new type of illegal drug called “Happy Water” to prevent its entry into the country.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 is being vigilant to ensure that the “Happy Water” drug, a newly discovered illegal drug will not infiltrate the Philippines. Happy Water has already made its way to Thailand and Myanmar.
PDEA-7 Spokesperson Leia Alcantara revealed that “Happy Water” is a mixture of several substances, including shabu and other illegal drugs, mixed with cocktail drinks in the form of a powder drug.
According to Alcantara, these drug mixtures can have serious adverse effects on the body, such as a rapid pulse, raised blood pressure, and harm to the central nervous system and organs, as well as the user experiencing hallucinations.
The agency’s spokesperson said that the distribution of these drugs typically occurs at parties and entertainment events, as they are highly addictive. While the PDEA-7 has yet to determine the origin of the drug, it is closely monitoring it in collaboration with its international counterpart to ensure that it does not enter the country.

As part of its intelligence monitoring, PDEA is also coordinating with bar owners to prevent the distribution and consumption of “Happy Water” and other illegal substances.
